GENEROUS DONATIONS FROM FESTIVE FOUR SEASONS SHOPPERS

Generous shoppers at Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield support volunteers to raise an outstanding £2,567.93 for the local branch of Samaritans on the run up to Christmas.

Volunteers helped shoppers in Mansfield transform their purchases into beautifully wrapped gifts this Christmas, visiting Four Seasons Shopping Centre in Mansfield every day from the 8th to the 24th December to wrap shoppers Christmas gifts in return for a donation to the charity, all in aid of a good cause.

The leading suicide prevention charity, Samaritans, encourages people to talk to them at any time they like, in their own way, in confidence about whatever’s getting to them.

Rebekah O’Neill, Centre Manager at Four Seasons Shopping Centre, said:  “It was lovely to have the volunteers at the centre again this Christmas, and we are delighted to hear of the significant amount of money raised for such a fantastic charity and worthy cause. Thank you to all of our shoppers who helped raise these funds and we wish them a very Happy New Year.”

Every penny raised goes towards supporting anyone in distress around the clock, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, across the local community in Mansfield and District. The Samaritans have a total of 201 branches across the UK and Ireland.

Jane Lidster, Director of Mansfield & District Samaritans, commented: “It’s always very important that we raise the profile of the Samaritans and the service the charity offers across the local area, but never more so than at Christmas when many people desperately need our support.

We very much value the opportunity Four Seasons Shopping Centre gave us to offer the gift wrapping service, which in return allowed us to raise funds that can really make a difference. We would like to personally thank shoppers and hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas.”
