Shop For Schools is back – with triple points up for grabs this Sunday!

Shop For Schools returns to Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre this weekend, with local pupils, families and friends collecting points for 30 schools from across the region for the chance to win big in the popular scheme.

“Last year was our must successful Shop For Schools campaign yet, but the level of anticipation for 2017 has been even more exciting,” said Four Seasons Centre Manager Rebekah O’Neill. “We had 30 schools sign up to take part in record time, and we’ve already heard of some shoppers who are putting off booking their holiday until the weekend so they can qualify for triple points!”
For every £1 spent at the centre, shoppers receive a point voucher which they donate to their chosen school at the special letterbox by the customer services desk.
“We will be giving out triple points all day on Sunday, so this launch weekend gives people a great opportunity to secure some early points,” said Rebekah. “At the end of the month-long campaign, the school with the most points will win the first prize of £3,000 to help fund anything from trips or text books through to computers and play equipment.”
Leas Park Junior School scooped the £3,000 top prize last year – and took the entire school for a fantastic visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. “The children all had a fabulous day, getting to see some amazing animals including some for the very first time, like the polar bears,” said Rebekah. “The runner-up spot went to Wynndale Primary School, who used the £1,000 prize to fund some exciting new climbing equipment. “It’s great that we at the centre and all of our shoppers are able to play a part in helping local schools.”

Shop for Schools is now in its thirteenth year, and this year shoppers are being given more chances than ever to earn extra bonus points throughout the month-long event.
“From Saturday 18 March until the final day of the campaign on Tuesday 18 April, Mansfield Library will be giving an extra 10 points to anyone who borrows a book,” said Rebekah. “As ever we will be giving out triple points every Sunday, there will be triple points on bank holidays such as Good Friday and Easter Monday and of course we’ve teamed up with the Chad again, who will be printing special bonus vouchers throughout the campaign.

“Shop For Schools is an important part of the year for us, as it enables us to give something back to our local community,” said Rebekah. “We’re incredibly proud of how successful the scheme has been for the last 12 years and we’re looking forward to 2017 being another fantastic year, if not our best yet.”
