Four Seasons launches Christmas campaigns

Christmas is the season for giving and in support of local organisations, the Samaritans and John Eastwood Hospice, Four Seasons Shopping Centre has launched two charity initiatives to help raise much-needed funds.

This month the centre has unveiled its ‘Memory Tree’, aimed at raising money for the hospice which delivers care and advice to people across the region.

Rebekah O’Neill, Four Seasons Centre manager, said: “In return for a donation to charity, visitors can collect a star decoration from the customer service desk, and write a message to - or memory of - someone dear to them. This is a wonderfully simple way for shoppers to not only commemorate loved ones but also support a worthwhile cause.”

On Boxing Day the centre is inviting the local community to donate Christmas presents they do not want to a good cause. Running from Tuesday 26 December until Friday 12 January, the ‘unwanted gift appeal’ is helping to raise money for Samaratins. All gifts donated will be collected by the charity who will then host a one day special sale at the centre on Saturday 13 January so shoppers have the chance to buy a treasure or two at the stall.

Rebekah continued: “Most of us receive the occasional gift that isn’t quite our cup of tea and it seems a shame to let them go to waste, gathering dust in a cupboard. This is a great way to recycle whilst fundraising.

“We’re encouraginggenerous customers to bring their unwanted Christmas presents to the centre and drop them off at the customer service desk to be included in the Samaritans charity ‘unwanted gift’ sale. This will offer the perfect chance for visitors to find something more to their taste,” concluded Rebekah.

If people don’t have an unwanted gift but would still like to be a part of the campaign they are more than welcome to purchase a little something which they can donate to the Samaritans charity sale.

* The Memory Tree is open now at Four Seasons Shopping Centre.

* Unwanted gifts can be left at the centre’s customer service desk any time from Tuesday 26 December through until Friday 12 January.
