FREE Ping Pong Parlour

Four Seasons Shopping Centre will be serving up the opportunity for Mansfield shoppers to have a go at table tennis, as it launches a free, pop-up ‘Ping Pong Parlour’ this weekend in partnership with table Tennis England.

The parlour will be officially opening on Saturday 4 August and will be running everyday until Tuesday 4 September, with plans to extend the event even further. It will be located next to The Hive in the centre, where visitors keen to show off their paddle skills will be able to make the most of this fast-pace sport from 10.30am until 3pm.

Rebekah O’Neill, Four Seasons Shopping Centre manager, said that she is delighted to have teamed up with Table Tennis England, the sport’s national governing body, to bring this exciting project to life. She said: “This will be a great way to spend some quality time with family and friends over the school summer holidays.

“In partnership with Table Tennis England, we are able to bring a really enjoyable sport to our shoppers absolutely free of charge, as well as promoting health and wellbeing. I’m sure we have many budding table tennis fans in the local community and will be a huge hit.”

Ping Pong Parlours have already opened in several other shopping centres nationwide and form part of Table Tennis England’s vision to inspire people to get active and lead happier, healthier lifestyles by introducing table tennis into places they already spend time in their everyday lives.

Keely Armitt, head of participation at Table Tennis England, said: ‘We’re delighted that the Four Seasons Shopping Centre is welcoming a Ping Pong Parlour and will celebrate all things ping pong! We’re sure visitors to the centre will really enjoy the free table tennis and hope that it inspires people to become more active by playing on a regular basis.”

The other initiatives delivered by Table Tennis England helping to achieve this, include Ping! the public, street ping pong festival, which bounces into 24 towns and cities every summer, and Loop which creates opportunities for workplaces, community venues and sports clubs to introduce table tennis.

Four Seasons Shopping Centre free ‘Ping Pong Parlour’ will be running every day from Saturday 4 August from 10:30am until 3pm up until Tuesday 4 September, then open on weekends only until 16 September.
