Four Seasons Friendship Coffee Group in The Hive

Every Tuesday 11.00am – 12.30pm

Age Friendly Nottinghamshire (AFN) is taking a different approach to other projects aimed at increasing social activity and reducing loneliness and isolation.  Where others have taken the route of designing and delivering a service to individuals, AFN is focusing on supporting and empowering individuals to come together to organise local activities, events and solutions.

Their work in the two pilot areas of Beeston and Ladybrook, Mansfield has been building community action and supporting residents to establish their own projects to improve their Neighbourhoods.

The established Four Seasons Friendship Coffee Group in The Hive is just one example of how local residents can take the lead to deliver new groups and activities which will help connect their communities, improve independence and increase social networks. Working in partnership with Four Seasons Shopping Centre the introduction of a regular place where older people can meet, catch up and support each other has provided a valuable social opportunity in the heart of Mansfield. Participants are encouraged to be proactive in promoting and expanding the group, bringing in guest speakers and organising further group activities. We now have a number of loyal members who have made some great friends by attending each week and we would encourage new members to come and give it a try.

If you know someone living in or around the AFN pilot areas who would benefit from some local support to feel more connected to social opportunities please discuss the AFN project with them and pass on their details to the AFN Team; Tel: 0115 977 20 41, Email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
